Dear All,
Dia dhaoibh a chairde, we have formed a small committee in order to put together a St Patrick's celebration for the town. We have already gotten the go ahead from the council and support of An Garda síochána.
As everyone is aware we have only a small number of days to pull this off, it will not be a traditional parade and will most likely be more of Irish music and dancing etc. We are meeting tonight 6:30pm (Monday 13th) and putting the exact plan of action into place, and then releasing all the information for everyone. We will start a Facebook page and publish everything on other local public pages.
It may not be the biggest or best St Patrick's day, but it will be a celebration of our countries national holiday in our amazing town. I would like to thank everyone who's helped me since I floated this idea and the rest of the people in this ad-hoc committee.
And as always, anyone willing to volunteer to play music or dance is more than welcome.
Expect music, dancing, children's fancy dress, and lots more.
Regards,
And on behalf of the other committee members,
Alan

Eoin Healy , Danny Akinrinbola
A game where mixed emotions on the result, the 1st half was excellent from the magpies in general and took a deserved goal lead after 10 min through the impressive Eoin Healy, then a big moment in the game, Christian Daly dragged to the ground by the last man but no penalty was awarded which would have resulted in a red card.
Midleton reduced Ringmahon to very little chances and Daly looked threatening throughout the 1st half , it looked like the magpies could stretch there lead before the interval.
2nd half was a poor start from the magpies , and ringmahon equalised directly from a corner , a sloppy 2nd conceded shortly after a breaking ball fell kindly for Mcalevay who sneaked one past Nganou after 15min of dominance.
Midleton got a real wake up call from here and equalised shortly after through Danny Akinrinbola, a good response and it was game on again for both sides. Another massive on the way, Russell was taken out by ringmahon keeper, but no penalty again in a clear moment. Both sides kept battling but in the end had to settle for a share of the spoils . Another competitive game this morning and fine performances again collectively from the whole squad .

Midleton advance to the next round of the Munster senior cup this morning after a tussle in the picturesque Madden Park. TJ with the all-important goal.
Where do we even start with this, only to say a real cup tie, with 2 teams going all out to win it in the 90. Went one down after a mix up between the two Craig's allowed their center forward to nip in to score. Lost Griffin to injury (Sean Morrissey) and in the next play equalized, when a quality corner from Patrick saw Josh arrive to thunder home a header, for his first of the season. Conceded again just before half time from a well worked set piece. Three changes at halftime, with Stuey, Charlie and Luke Smith (for Craig, Tristan and Tom, all in) and we started to get a foothold, with the final ball just eluding us. Twenty minutes left, last throw of the dice, saw Stephen (Jimmy) Griffin enter the fray, (Patrick),with him on the right and Charlie moving to 10. Drew level when Jimmy delivered a super corner for Charlie to head home. Straight from the kick off we conceded again, big shout for offside on this one, nothing given, and up against it again. With someone like Charlie in the side, there’s always a chance of something special, and when Mark rolled a pass to him 30 yards out, there didn't seem to be much on.He let fly right-footed, and the ball sailed into the top left hand corner for a absolute worldy. All to play for now, both sides had chances, with Riverstown clipping the bar, and Stuey pulling off a super save from a free kick. Crossbar at the other end denied Charlie the perfect hat trick, when his left foot shot just clipped the top of it. Just when it looked like extra time was looming,James played a super through ball for Jimmy to race onto, slide rule pass across the area, and Shane arrived to finish a cracking move.
Came from behind 3 times, never gave up, only downside is the injuries starting to mount.
MOTM James Crowley.
Played the last 20 minutes carrying a knock, solid at right full and always a threat going forward.Has it all.
First home league game next Friday night vs Douglas Hall.

Founders Cup Final
Midleton U14A 2-1 Midleton U14B
A thrilling cup final by both sides who left it all out on the pitch in knockgriffin park, this game started and both teams tried to get on the front foot, but not a inch was given, with a strong wind the A side had two quick fire chances on 15 min and B side keeper Gregory produced two excellent saves . It remained a tight affair but 5 min before HT Owen Noonan struck the opener from edge of the box into the bottom corner. Ht 1-0.
2nd half begun and the 1st 10 min remained a cagey affair but the B side began to grow in confidence and really took the game to the A side with the Aid of the strong wind. A good spell with some slick passing but the final shot was just evading the target, but with 10 min remaining they got a deserved equaliser through a well struck shot that was saved well but Alan O Reilly reacted quickest to the rebound and level matters, great reaction from the crowd and it was game on . The A side never dropped there heads and reacted well within two minutes were level once again James Lambe striking a second for the A side, once again the crowd erupted, brilliant entertainment, the B side rallied once again but the elusive equaliser never came, the final whistle was blown heartbreak and joy all in one night. Brilliant game played in a sporting manner from start to finish. Well done to both sides again and Congratulations to the A side on securing the Cup , making it a double success .
Thank you to the Cork Schoolboys League to bring the final to knockgriffin and making it a occasion for players family and the supporters.
Midleton crowned champions tonight with a well-deserved victory. We started the game with great intensity with Ciaran O’Brien brilliantly finishing after 1 min. We doubled our lead with another cracking finish from Ciaran O' Brien again, he was a handful for the Corinthians defense all night. After 15 min we got our third through Conor O’ Brien with a clinical finish when put through. Corinthians battled hard and pulled a goal back from a corner kick. We bounced back straight away with an own goal from the Corinthian defender after being put under real pressure from Ciaran O’Brien.
4-1 up at half time the second half was an even effort affair Corinthians pulled a goal back from a free kick, we sealed the games after a brilliant finish from Michael Bertocci. Finished 5-2 winners with great celebration from the lads. Went unbeaten in the league all season, a great group of kids deserved the league win.
Thanks to Mike for presenting a cup to the team at the end of the game.

U13 TEAM ARE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
CSL U13 Premier league
Midleton 5 Springfield Ramblers 0
A comprehensive win against a battling Ramblers side secured a well deserved u13 Premier league title for the boys tonight! Despite scoring early through a fine Shay Forde finish the first half was tense and in truth we didn't really create enough clear cut chances. The 2nd half proved much better and when top scorer for the season Alex Wilson bagged his first to make it 2 nil we never looked back. Alex doubled his tally before Shay added his second. The excellent Ben Dumigan scored a lovely 5th goal from distance to put the cherry on top of a very successful campaign. The boys have been unbeaten at home throughout the league, scored over 100 goals in all competitions and have won back to back league titles (u12/u13) at Premier level. A fantastic effort from the entire squad throughout a long season and every member of the squad played their part. Congratulations and well done boys!! ⚽👍

THANK YOU JOHN 👏Our senior season came to a end last week, after a very impressive season as a whole, finishing 4th in a competitive league and a new team coming together over the last season. Our senior manager John Ryan has decided to step down and take a break from football. John has been involved for many years in the club, he was head coach to the senior team that won the MSL Premier Division in 2017/18.He took over as manager in 2018, unfortunately Covid interrupted this term, but started the work of rebuilding the team over the last few years. He has put in a huge effort into working with so many young players that have come through the club and also joined us from the east cork area. His focus was always to further develop players and encouraging them to reach senior league standard. We thank John very much and wish him the best on his break from football and hope someday to see him back at Knockgriffin Park.
Best of luck to all the magpies who are starting their exams today, stay calm and take your time, it's all in hand.
Remember all you can do is your best.
Midleton v Shamrock Rovers, Sat May 21st,Turners Cross Stadium 1:30pm
This was a real team performance from everyone tonight best performance all season never looked like losing.1 nil up at half time when it could easily have been 3 only for the Douglas GK who was in fine form throughout the game and was awarded MOM at the end.2nd half was of similar pattern lots chances being created but our goal machine Dera scored 2 more another hat trick 3 in 3 games..In fairness the starting 11 played some terrific football throughout and gave Dera great service throughout We had 6 subs tonight and all got game time and added that freshness when required.Every year we lose players of the highest quality but the core of this team keeps producing results like tonight. We are very proud of the whole squad congrats again girls
Midleton A through to the next round after a win at home to Douglas Hall B.Highlight was 4 goals from Rory O Riordan.

U19 League St.Mary's 0-2 Midleton Solid away performance from the lads today against a well organised St. Mary's, Eoin Brenner got the first reacting quickest from a knockdown from Dylan O Halloran at the back post. Midleton kept the pressure on but some good goalkeeping and wayward finishing kept it at 1 nil. Midleton started very brightly in the 2nd half keeping up the pressure and Sean O Connor got up the highest to score a great header from a corner. Game finished 2 nil. Sean and Eoin in picture above, goal scorers today.

Tonight's Goalscorers were Leon Hennessey x 3 and Christian Daly. This was a fine win away from home. Going a goal down after 2min from a set piece wasn't ideal but the magpies' heads didn't drop and took the game to St.Mary's from then on. There were ots of chances and good saves giving a vibe that Midleton was somehow going to get that equalizer. Leon Hennessey finally found the net to make it 1-1 at half time. Midleton started the 2nd half in the same manner on the front foot and were awarded a penalty at 55min but a fine save kept it at 1-1 The 2nd did come 10min later with Dylan O Halloran hitting the post before Christian Daly tidied up matters with a easy finish to make it two. Leon Hennessey added a third goal of the game with 5min to go , his 3rd and Midleton's 4th with a mazey run beating 3 and chipping the ball over the keeper to rap up a fine win. Congratulations to Niall Corcoran on making his Senior debut tonight and we wish all the U19 squad the best of luck on there showdown with College Corinthians on Saturday. Q-final clash will be away to Douglas hall .
Great hard fought win tonight against a strong Ringmahon team. Both goals coming from frees. The 1st goal in the first half from Darragh O' Brien and the 2nd goal came in the 80th min from Jake Fahy. Man of the match this evening went to Dylan Maher Hayes who was outstanding at left back.
New all weather plan for Knockgriffin Park.
