to involve all the grassroots of football in Ireland to help develop the game further at schoolboy’s level in 2011.

East Cork Super Cup
was won by Nanos Beautys with An Teach Beag runners up. The plate winners where The Chivas. It was  an all day event with a total of 24 teams taking part. In its first year it went very well and enjoyed by all.
Thanks to organizers John Mallon, Barry Mc Mahon, sponsor Seamus Cunnigham and all who helped out on the day to make the competition a success.

Annual General Meeting of the club will take place next Tuesday 22nd June 8pm at Knockgriffin Park. All members, parents and supporters are invited to attend. If you have any points of interest or suggestions please come along

Munster Senior Cup Final Waterford United 3 Midleton 1
Midleton seniors put up a brave display to lose out in the Munster Senior Cup Final in the RSC in Waterford on Thursday evening. Waterford led through two goals from striker David Grincell within the first 11 minutes, and things looked ominous for the Magpies. However, they soon settled, and slowly grew into the game. There were no further goals in the half. However, Waterford struck within three minutes of the break to secure the tie. From there on thought, Midleton more than matched their opponents, and scored midway through the half through James Murphy. Excellent performances by Kevin Stack, John Keane, Killian Flavin, Ray Barnes and Danny Morrissey saw Midleton compete strongly with the League of Ireland side. Despite a number of chances on either side, the Blues ended up victorious on a 3-1 scoreline.

Well done to the lads on a great run, and a creditable performance in the final.

Midleton Seniors Are Team of the Year
Midleton senior team where presented with the Team of the Year trophy at the Munster Senior League Annual Awards at Murphy’s Brewery. Congratulations to all the Players Team Management and everyone who has worked behind the team. Well done everyone

Under 12 League Play off
Under 12 a team are in a play off for league honours against Macroom next Tuesday 8th June in St Marys Park

Under 11 team League Champions
They will be presented with their League Trophy next Thursday 10th June in their last match of the season at home.

Congradulations
Well done to Danny Morrissey and Raymond Savage who were part of the Cork U16 squad that won the National Inter-League Cup Final on Sunday 30th May. They defeated Donegal 4-1 in the final, in Jackson Park, Kiltiernan, Dublin. Cork were managed by Midleton FC coach Leonard O'Driscoll.

Seniors are  Team of the Year.
The Munster Senior League have selected Midleton Senior team for  Team of the Year Award. The presentation will take place at MSL Annual Awards ceremony on Friday 4th June. Congratulations to the Management team of John Ryan, Barry Mc Mahon, Brian Lambe the 23 squad players, club management, supporters and all who contributed in any away to their success.

National Finals
Best of luck to three Midleton FC players this week who are involved in national finals. Emmet Cotter plays for the Cork U15 team who play Waterford in Tramore on Friday night in the National Inter-league final. Also, Danny Morrissey and Raymond Savage are in the Cork U16 squad who take on Donegal in the U16 Inter-league final in Dublin on Sunday.

Congradulations to Emmet Cotter
Emmet Cotter received his first cap for playing for the Republic of Ireland under 16 team friendly against  Belgium in Belgium. Emmet played two matches and did very well. Ireland lost both matches 1 v 0 and 3 v 1

Midleton Senior team make club history
by qualifying for the Munster Senior Cup Final. They over came Castlview at home by two goals to one Mickey Ryan and John Keane where the marksmen on the night.

U14 Division Two Champions - Midleton 9-0 Buttevant
In a sensational turn up for the books, Midleton became Division Two champions on Sunday morning. Playing at the same time as the team in pole position, or so it seemed, Midleton racked up a 9-0 scoreline, not knowing that Youghal had lost their match. This all meant that Midleton finished as champions of Division 2 by 2 points. A well deserved third successive promotion for this team. The club would like to congratulate Adrian and Kevin and the squad for their achievements this year, and in previous years.

Midleton Senior Team  prmoted to Premier Football.
Midleton senior team that lined out against tramore in the fianl game of the league season. A draw secured both teams for promotion to the premier division for next season and also a play off next Wednesday 5th May, at 7pm in Mayfield grounds to determined who will go as champions.

League Decider - Sunday 2nd May Midleton V Tramore Ath @ 10.45am.
Seniors 3 v 2 win over Passage, with goals by Billy woods and James Murphy has set up an exciting last league match of the season.
A win and we are champions and promoted to senior division, a draw we are promoted and a play off match with Tramore. A defeat and Fermoy win their last match will see a play off with Fermoy for promotion place. So don’t miss biggest match for years at Knockgriffin.  

Midleton Senior Team continue good form with an important midweek league two nil win over Mallow and on Sunday won after extra against against CIT in the Pop Kelleher Cup

Ireland U16 Squad
Major congratulations to Emmet Cotter who has been picked in the U16 squad to represent Ireland v Belgium at the end of the month. He is one of 6 Cork players selected. Congratulations from all at the club. A well deserved honour for a fine player.

Midleton Soccer Club hold Club Intercultural Open Day next Sunday 18th April. All Welcome. Organised by the FAI. On the Day there will be a football blitz with medals presented to all boys who attend.

Under 16 team qualify for the last eight in the national cup.
Grace Matiki scored the all important goal against Cobh Ramblers in Cobh.
Grace struck a sweet left foot strike from 25 yards to the delight or everyone there from Midleton. A very good team performance the club can look forward to a home match against Waterford Bohs

Morrissey Scores winner in Munster Senior Cup 1st round V Fermoy
Danny Morrissey Under 16 player makes his debut for senior team and scores the winner with his first touch after coming on for the last 20 min of the Munster senior Cup Match away to Fermoy. Michael Deasy opened the score for Midleton.

Cork City Legends will Play Midleton Stars of past and present to Officially Open New Floodlights.
A big night is planned for all to be involved more news to follow.

New addition to Knockgriffin Park
Club volunteers fitted International standard dugouts on number one playing pitch

Plans are being finalized for the Official Opening and celebration of Club Floodlights on Friday 26th February.  More details will be available soon

ALL CSL LEAGUE AND NATIONAL CUP GAMES CALLED OFF THIS WEEKEND JAN 9th and 10th. Because it is a blanket call off of all games by the league home advantage in national cup games fixed for this weekend will not be lost. All Cork Inter League Teams Training on Sunday night (U11 to U16) in Blarney and Douglas Hall has also been cancelled.

November 2009

Contract signed where signed at the Midleton Park hotel for Floodlights to be erected over no one playing pitch at Knockgriffin Park. Club Midleton will now look forward to playing football under floodlights on Friday nights. December should see the 3rd phase of our Ground Development complete at Knockgriffin Park.

Some facts and figures about the Musco LSG system to be installed a Midleton FC:
• Midleton’s system will use 23,000w less power than previous technology.
• That amounts to over €10,000 saving in energy costs over 10 years.
• Carbon footprint reduced by almost 4 tonnes of CO2 per year.

The Musco LSG system has been used in Dundalk Racecourse, Semple Stadium and is currently being installed in the new Aviva Stadium.

Plans Unveiled for Floodlights for number one Playing pitch
The decision to go ahead with flood Floodlights was given before before Midleton senior match in the Intermediate Cup to Bandon at home. Club chairman Mick Kirby announced details to members before the game. Contract will be signed in the next 10 days. Midleton will now look forward to playing football under floodlights on Friday nights. December should see the 3rd phase of club Development programme complete at Knockgriffin Park.
