Midleton FC Cork

Midleton Park Hotel

Rockmount    0    v    0           Midleton

This was a tough opening fixture of 2020 for the magpies, with injuries, suspension and holidays it was major collective effort from squad and management to get a result tonight. But on the night the magpies absolutely left everything out there. Rockmount probably had the lions share, but defensively Midleton were excellent. Russell and Keane had excellent games at centre back, Emmet Cotter had his best performance of the season and Matthew Lambe, Seamus Farrell, Ray Lally covered copious amounts of ground in that middle battle. Shane O’Riordan provided the energy you need for Whitechurch wide right, and well done to Junior player Andy William's making the step up tonight with his senior debut and having a fine performance at right back. You can never complain leaving Rockmount Park with a point, so magpies will move onto another away league fixture next week versus Douglas Hall on Saturday.
