Youghal           2          0          Midleton

Juniors travelled to Youghal for away league fixture last night. Both were promoted last year with not much between them, so this was always going to be a tight affair and so it proved. Showing five changes from our last game, we started on front foot, and were the better side for most of the first half, creating six or seven good chances, with Robbie having a cracking header come back off the bar, Andy having a header cleared off the line.

Just before half time we were hit with a sucker punch, Youghals best move of the half saw them break on the left, cross a great ball into the box for their winger to finish past Stuey. Second half started with a shower of rain, which saw the pitch rapidly deteriorating, as we pushed for an equaliser for most of half and just couldn't find a way through, fatigue became an issue, and a more experienced Youghal side hit us on the break in the last 10 minutes to score their second. Hard to take, really tough game, with both sides going all out, don't think there was a yellow card in the whole game. Really brilliant performance from all 16 lads. Best of luck to Youghal for rest of league. Cup football next week, home to Leeside.
