CSL Regional National Cup Semi Final Midleton 1 V 0 Carrigaline Utd.

Goalscorer Ryan Woods

For the second year in a row this team have reached this final. A fantastic achievement. Congrats to all the boys and the management team.

Midleton 2 v Carrigaline 1.
Away to Carrigaline for a friendly, it was an outstanding performance today from all the team, great football played by both sides. But Midleton were the better side in the first half. The opening goal came from a free kick, just outside the box. Good pressure inside the box forced a mistake for a Carrigaline player, who put the ball into their net. Midleton worked hard making a good break, and coming close on a few occasions. Sam Murphy our goalkeeper made two unreal saves in the first half.
2nd half was more of the same good pressure from Midleton, but Carrigaline were starting to come into the game a little more, missed tackles lead to a Carrigaline goal, which was an outstanding strike from outside the box, ball going to top right corner.
Midleton were under pressure for the next 10mins, but rode the wave well, work rate was upped by all, and a great team goal with Kealan Crowe on hand to put the ball into the net, outstanding goal had it great passing, movement of the ball, and an outstanding finish.
Man of the match was very hard to pick for this one, with a great team performance today, but Sam Murphy in goals gave it an outstanding performance today Sam.
Big thanks to the U11 players for their help today, Ben Fitzgerald, Sean Dempsey, Zak Butler, Max Murphy great performance today lads.
Would like to wish Carrigaline the best of luck next week in the national cup v St Kevin Boy's.
