Cork Youth League U18

Midleton 1 Douglas Hall 1

This was a vital home game against the rivals for top spot in the league. Both teams were very evenly matched, with very few chances.
Robbie Kinane scored an excellent goal, when lobbing the keeper midway through the first half. Midleton were on top at that stage, and looked to go to finish the half strongly. However, five minutes before half-time Douglas scored direct from a long range free, to leave the sides level.
The second half was a close affair, with few openings. Ivan Merz made a point-blank save to keep the scores tied. Robbie had a great shot saved, with the follow-up hitting the side-netting.
Disappointed to drop two more home points. But there will be more twists yet in this league.
